Kanye's Bohemian Rhapsody: What On Earth Did I Listen To?!

So, after all of the hype about Kanye West covering Bohemian Rhapsody at Glastonbury on Saturday, the die hard Queen fan in me decided to give it a watch, seeing as it is currently 03.20am and I can't sleep, I've already watched Phantom, and hope to sleep before 5 this morning so there is minimal point in attempting to watch Les Mis, So, I dutifully directed my browser to Youtube and sought out the newly infamous cover. My thoughts on the travesty? What in the name of all things Queen did I just watch?!

I genuinely am not sure what on earth happened, it was a fusion of Freddie Mercury greatness and pure terror. My initial wonder was, had someone in the tech team played 1.52 seconds of the wrong backing track, and Kanye being the trooper that he is (yes, that was a shocking pun aimed at his attire.) decided that instead of having a strop befitting of his 2 year old daughter (which lets be honest, is the kind of behaviour we have all come to expect from Kanye) he would just half heartedly sing along with the track, hoping that the crowd would fill in the parts he was unsure of until the homeboys and girls in the rig could change the backing track to one of the songs he'd learnt for the gig. I'll be honest, it got to the point where I wished that someone would put a gun against my head and pull the trigger. I'm genuinely unsure how, if this cover was not a mistake by the tech team, anybody let Kanye make such a fool of himself, I mean, I know making himself look a prat is what Kanye does at the best of times, but why on earth would his people allow him to make himself look that big of a prat in public? Genuinely, what management team sits around a table arranging Kanye's Glastonbury set list and goes "I know! Lets put 1 minute 52 seconds of Bohemian Rhapsody in there, that's a crowd favourite" and more to the point, what management team doesn't instantly dismiss the pillock who makes that suggestion?! Kanye love, I think you need to reconsider the people who approve your set lists, as clearly, they're out to get you my sweet!

Kanye's skill set (if that's what we're calling it) is definitely in the Rap/Hip-Hop/R&B/Whatever genre you put his music into, industry, and just because a song has the word "Rhap" in the title, does not mean that you should assume that you have the ability to cover it.

Lets hope that Kanye has seen the social media reactions to his actions and from now decides against the suggestion of covering legendary rock classics such as BoRhap, before any more classics get mutilated.

Just in case any of you haven't had the chance to check out Kanye's murder of Bohemian Rhapsody, I've linked the video in below!
